Xismosa vs. Xit

Hello all,

Today’s newsletter is sponsored by my heroic effort to resist inertia. Looking specifically at closing shift for fucking up my sleep schedule.

Prose and Poetry of the Week

Creation

I wrote this during my junior year of college, thus references to syllabi and such. I still feel the same way about writing, and loving creating and having an idea that I am not done with until it is done with me.

Related: “I’m going out like a fucking meteor!”

poetry is not a luxury

i want to live
the rest of my life
however long or short
with as much sweetness
as I can decently manage
loving all the people i love
of the work i still have to do
i am going to write fire
until it comes out of my ears
my eyes my noseholes everywhere
until it's every breath i breathe
I'm going out like a fucking meteor!

Is This What It Comes To?

A contradiction to the above, I do not have an idea ready to sprout from my head, as much as I would like to create. Since writing this a month ago, I am supposed to get paid $6 more than California’s minimum wage. It will be a living wage, since California’s living wage is predicted to be around $20/hr. However, I think $24/hr is more accurate.

Personal Chisme

chisme = gossip

  • What a goddamn time.
  • If you need to go camping, I might have an auntie who can go with you or give you good recommendations.
  • Got COVID at the beginning of the month. Holland and I lived on the couch for a few days. Thank Goddess and scientists for vaccines.
  • Training to be a shift lead at work! Still have yet to be dipped in dressing, that will probably be at the next level.
  • Working on a new cross stitch (no, i didn’t finish the last one, why do you ask?) that I am doing as a rainbow coincidentally during Pride Month. It’s not for pride I’m just a slut for rainbows
  • I’ve started to use a poetry book as my journal. It’s like a community museum.
  • I FINALLY turned 26 after thinking I was 26 for the past few months. I have decided to keep track of my age once a year only. No one hurt me right now bc i have questionable insurance.
  • I think I’m an absurdist. How did I get to this point? By watching Everything Everywhere All At Once, PLEASE watch it and talk to me about it!! Will keep you updated though, because I hate being in anyway associated with Albert Camus.
  • Saving the best for last: MY NEW NIECE ENTERED THE WORLD THE DAY AFTER MY BIRTHDAY AND I JUST WANT TO HOLD HER TINY LITTLE HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But also
