First Piece

A Gem, a Witch, and an 8 Foot Tall Lesbian

I essentially wrote a first draft for this – Non-Chronological Queer Looking for a Decolonized House – about my theory that queer people live non-chrological lives because we are marginalized in society, keeping our inner child closested until they are able to come out in adulthood, and then we can really take out inner child for a ride. This pseudo-second draft is about my love of kids shows, and I talk about Steven Universe, The Owl House, and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power because of their full acceptance of queerness, and how it brings my inner child and I joy. Plus, this piece won a prize 🙂 

Second Piece

Think Cult Classics, but Female Friendships

In contrast to the shows above that accept queerness, the movies I talk about in this article have female friendships that are SO CLOSE but the creators are COWARDS and won’t give us a queer love story like all the straight love stories that have been FORCED and SHALLOW. Yes I have feelings about it, please read them.

Rabbitholes

Things I’ve learned, laughed about, and/or obsessed over

• One-bag travel videos. I have never done it before and it would be difficult to do, but it’s a fantasy right now to travel easily.
• The Fast and Furious movie timeline, because I have now watched all of them and mostly understand!
• I hated The Batman so much that it inspired me to write again.
• I love owls

Personal Chisme

chisme = gossip

• I saw gas at $6.13/gal this week and I threw up a little bit.
• I’m now on ~Prozac~ because I’ve heard that ~serotonin~ is ~cool~
• I got a second job at Sweetgreen! People have either never heard of it or L O V E their salads. It’s trying to be a cult, but not that successful. I’ll try to let you know if they dip me in dressing to induct me.
• I am consumed by my Medusa cross stitch. I bought the pattern but changed the colors so she looks a little more like… me.
