Hello all,
This week’s newsletter is sponsored by the seemingly – and possibly infinite – chasm of “oh shit I need money” that is your 20s in the ‘20s.

Prose and Poetry of the Week
I write too much and therefore don’t say enough. I feel like I have been trying to encapsulate the idea of creation and the beauty of that connection between humans for the better part of a year, but honestly it’s such a big idea that it seems best when lots of humans talk about it when playing off one another.
Another devotional looking for ancestral deities, and wondering why church pews aren’t more comfortable.

Rabbitholes
Things I’ve learned, laughed about, and/or obsessed over
- Glow Up make-up competition, it makes me emotional because I loVE ART!!!

- “I remember that I did not always know authors were ordinary people living ordinary lives, and that an ordinary life was an obscure life, if we can extend the meaning of obscure to mean covered up by dailiness, glorious dailiness, shameful dailiness, dailiness that is difficult to figure out, that is not always clear until a long time afterward. Obscure: not readily noticed, easily understood, or clearly expressed. Which is a pretty good definition of life.” – I Remember, I Remember by Mary Ruefle
- This giant ass real dog

- This tiny ass painted cat

Personal Chisme
chisme = gossip
- Rejected from a couple of applications, hope springs eternal for the next one
- Once again debating an MFA, shoutout to writer + poet + friend Ally Ang who recently completed their own and let me regale them with questions!
- We watched Dune and I boo-ed at the Sickly Victorian Child. Not enough Oscar Isaac.

Thank you for reading! You can reach an archive of these at my blog, Colochos de Flores. Happy Scorpio Season!
Abrazos and/or high-fives,
Ariana
